Lift & Pull Rails
The measure of a high-performance window is not just that it insulates well, but that it also looks beautiful and is easy to operate, even in the simplest of details. Our lift and pull rails, like our coved glazing bead and contoured exterior mainframe, are sculpted for a classic look. The rails are also ergonomically designed to be easy to ease.
Sunrise Windows uses a sloped sill for easy cleaning and water drainage. The sill is made from one solid piece of vinyl so there are no pockets for dirt and debris to collect it.
MaxEdge™ Space System
Modern Double Pane Sealed Insulated Glass Units were created over 50 years ago and over that time, the materials to make insulated glass have steadily evolved so that units could be made to last longer and insulate better. MaxEdge Space System, the next step in the evolution of insulated glass units, provides the best value and thermal performance in windows. It is the exclusive space system used in the construction of Sunrise Windows.
If you've ever had to bother with window screens before, you may have noticed that most are pretty flimsy and easily bent or broken. Some are even difficult to get in and out of the frame. Not Sunrise - we use a self-tensioning spring that holds the screen securely in place and also makes it easier to remove and insert. And we've solved the flimsy frame problem too! We use an extruded aluminum, stronger than the pressed aluminum, for the frame. Instead of a plastic corner key, we use a heavy-duty aluminum one that is hydraulically stamped for higher screen frame strength and rigidity.
Your search for a window with a true Painter's White (instead of the common blue-white or gray vinyl windows) is over. And we have more colors available including 4 other exterior colors and 5 other interior colors. These colors and woodgrains can be paired together for a total of 18 color combinations!
Sunrise Windows are constructed with a true narrowline design that maximizes your viewing area. We don't spotil that view with ugly finishing touches. Instead, details like our glazing bead follow through with our classic appearance. The glazing bead, which holds the glass unit inside the sash, is coved for a traditional wood look.
Sunrise double hungs tilt in for easy cleaning. All you have to do is lift the sash 2-3 inches, push the tilt latches on either side towards the center and pull the top of the sash towards you. Our ergonomically designed tilt latches are flush-mounted into the sash for a less obtrusive look.
Many windows claim to be air-tight, but the question is how much? We use 50% more weather stripping than most windows on the marketing and our air infiltration test rates prove how effective it really is. For example, we have three stripes of weatherstripping around our sashes, where most windows only have two. Our air infiltration rate is one of the lowest in the industry - we tested at a .03. That means we do a better job at keeping drafts out than most windows out there and we can say with confidence that our windows are air-tight.
Lock & Keeper
The lock and keeper of a double hung window is the cornerstone of the window's security. Sunrise Windows uses a flush-mounted lock with stylish, easy-to-use handle, instead of a bulky lock protruding from the meeting rails (also called check rails). The lock pulls the meeting rails together and substantially reduces air infiltration by producing a better seal of the sash at the head and the sill. We're so confident of our lock's—and our entire window's— performance that we've stamped our name into it.
Night Vent Latches
When we add a feature to a window, we don't compromise on security or appearance. All Sunrise double hung and sliders feature convenient night vent latches that allow you to open a sash a few inches and allow the breeze to blow through. But an open window should be an open invitation for unwanted visitors. By engaging night vent latches you ensure the sash stops prowlers from opening the window any farther.
When Sunrise started creating our window, we listened to frustrated dealers and homeowers who wanted a window that looked good from top to bottom, inside and out. So we made sure our exterior mainframe has a double-contoured design. The look was so revolutionary for the industry, we patented* it. But the traditional wood look had another benefit. We discovered during testing that by using arches—the strongest natural shape—in the design, our window was extraordinarily strong for its narrowline design. Beauty and strength—that's how the difference is clear!

Decorative Glass Options
Sunrise Windows knows what it takes to make a window stand out. From the hidden details that build a high-performance unit to the decorative options that homeowners, like you, can choose to personalize. Beyond color, decorative glass options such as grids or beveled leaded glass can make the window distinctive. Between the glass options like SunBlinds and SunShades make it convenient. When you consider our available options, even just for double hung windows, it's easy to see how Sunrise could make millions of different windows.
SunBlinds & SunShades
Our exclusive 8-layer Utra-U(TM) Plus coating structure insulates better than hard and soft coat Low-E glass, Low-E squared glass and even most triple-pane products. The lower the insulation U-Factor of the glass, the more you save! Let our Ultra-U(TM) Plus efficiency and performance work for your home.
SolarClean(TM) Self-Cleaning Glass is a permanent layer that is part of the outer glass surfgace. After installation, the sun's utlraviolet rays break down dirt and debris on the glass, which rain will then wash away. best of all, there's no spotting or streaking and it's powered by nature.
There are three types of window balances. Coil balances, similar to a tape measure, have to be strung together for a different sizes of windows. This means there is higher chance of problems. Spiral balances, which tend to lose effectiveness unless cleaned and lubricated every 6 months, are a better choice. Both the spiral and coil systems are tested for a 10-12,000 cycle (one full rotation of moving the sash up and down) durability.
Our preferred and the best balance system is the block and tackle system. The block and tackle system is tested for over 33,000 cycles. That's the equivalent of opening and closing your window every day for over 90 years! Part of our block and tackle system's durability is due to the military-grade nylon cord that's used. But as well as our balance performs, we know you don't want to look at it. We use a balance cover that perfectly matches our window frame for a beautiful uniform look.
Not all frames and sashes for windows are made the same. Some manufacturers use screws and glue to fasten the windows together. Those windows are more likely to leak air and water, and come apart over time. Fusion Welding Providers a much stronger, tighter and longer lasting window. But even fusion welding is not all the same - manufacturers can use a 1,2 or 4 point welding process. Sunrise uses an 8 point fusion welding process that ensures the window ends up square and level. Fusion welding turns the vinyl into a semi-solid state then the corners are pushed together to form one piece that is bonded on a molecular level. Not only does Sunrise use an 8 point welding process, we also produce the sashes of double hungs and sliders with double stacking technology. This means that both sashes are welded at the same time, ensuring they perfectly match each other for a tighter sealing window.
Polyurethane Foam-filled Extrusions
If you're investing in replacement windows, it makes sense to choose windows that will save you money. Sunrise windows are constructed using energy-efficient pure virgin u-PVC, which is superior to aluminum or wood in keeping your home insulated. And our polyurethane foam-filled extrusions provide higher R-values than typical PVC windows. Plus, we use only environmentally-friendly polyurethane foams containing no CFC's, the exact same type of material used to insulate your refrigerator door.
